The final night of the semifinals round of Rock Hunt 2015 was held at The Parlour in Providence.  In front of a backdrop mural of Marshall stacks the last three semifinalists left it all on stage as they battled it out for a chance to play in the final round.  I have to admit that I started the night with a favorite in mind.  Having shot Forest Fires previously when they opened for the The Airborne Toxic Event, I knew that they would be tough to beat.  However, to my surprise the other contenders of the evening gave them quite the run for their money.  Opening up the show was Southpier. Their powerhouse lead singer rocked each song with heart and left everything on stage.  Proving how bad they wanted the win, he wrapped up the set by singing himself a nosebleed. Following that impressive performance would not be easy.  Next up Forest Fires took the stage and did not disappoint.  They played their way into the audiences hearts with a solid performance from start to finish.  Wrapping up the show, S. Walcott came out of the gates swinging.  They were an unexpected pleasant suprise and had me at hello with their youthful energy and enthusiasm.  Forest Fires humbly took the win in the end and will be heading to the finals April 4th at The Met to battle it out for the title against We Were Astronauts, Most Dangerous Men Alive and the wildcard round winner Public Alley.  Check out the photos of round 3 finalist Forest Fires here. :)
